We never part with those we love and Baba Mary will continue to be with us everywhere. After 100 years of celebrating life, she has gone home to Heaven. Baba Mary was born on July 5, 1909 and peacefully passed away in the company of her loving family on Sunday, March 7, 2010 after a brief illness. Her husband, Albert, preceded her in death in 1961. She was also preceded by her brothers Albert, Johnny, and Edward, son-in-law Eugene Ziepiela, and special friend, Richard Morrissey. The "Seed", as she was affectionately referred to, is survived by two children, daughter Alberta Ziepiela, and son Edward, both of Jackson. Also surviving are her sister, Irene Kokoczka of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Kathy (David) Tomczyk of Henderson, NV, Jenni (John) Bachle of Fort Wayne, IN, Tony (Amy) Dzikowicz of Grand Haven, MI, Tammy (Bob) Sommerfeld of Glenwood Springs, CO, Kris (Ron) Whitaker, Patti (Greg) Fish and Joe (Cyndie) Ziepiela all of Jackson; 15 great grandchildren: Nicki, David, Lynda, Christy, Rick, Eric, Sarah, Becky, Andy, Lauren, Michael, Eugene, Abby, Katie and Sophie; 7 great, great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mary retired from Mercy Hospital and enjoyed traveling, casinos, and listening to happy Polka music- especially the songs "Maryska Moja" and "Sto Lat"- played by her son Eddie on the accordion. "Baba", short for "Babcia", or "Grandma" in Polish, also enjoyed telling stories of her past. She was St. Joseph Catholic Church's oldest living parishioner, and celebrated her one-hundredth birthday there with a gala party. Sto Lat! She is at the Lauer Family Funeral - Jackson where her family will receive friends on Wednesday 2:00 PM-8:00 Pm with a Parish Scripture Service at 6:00 PM. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday 9:30 AM at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. Robert Pienta.
