DORIS DAUGHERTY age 78, passed away at Tendercare of Hastings Thursday January 21, 2010. She was born in Hastings, MI on January 14, 1932 to Maurice and Mildred (Roush) McMurray, who have preceded her in death. Doris is survived by her children, Deloris Visser of Hastings, MI, Danny Daugherty of Hastings, MI, John Jay Daugherty of Eureka, CA, Rex Daugherty of Hastings, MI; sister, Janet (Ted) Weiderhold of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces. She was preceded death by her step-son, Kenneth Daugherty; brother, Ralph McMurray; and sister Betty Ball. Doris was very active in the Hastings Grace Wesleyan Church, volunteered at Tendercare (Provential Health) for 32 years, was a school crossing guard on North Michigan Ave for many years, and also loved to knit scarfs, mittens, and hats and give them away to different people. Doris is being taken care of at Lauer Family Funeral Home-Wren Chapel 1401 N. Broadway Hastings. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and services are pending. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
